José Ramón Bauzá
Liberal Member of the European Parliament and Transport Coordinator for Renew Europe, José Ramón Bauzá is the former President of the Balearic Islands Government, and one of the most relevant experts in tourism in the European institutions. His background as pharmacist and CEO of several companies gives him the necessary background to be in charge of the relationships within stakeholders in the transport sector. Graduated back in 1992, he holds a postgraduate degree in pharmaceutical industry management at IE Business School, apart from several courses at Oxford and Harvard University. He speaks fluently 6 languages and is in charge of the External Affairs Committee in the European Parliament.
H.E. Khurram Shroff, is the Chairman of IBC Group Limited, and on the Board of Imperial Group of Companies. Shroff’s also manages the Shroff Multi Family Office, a 100-plus-year entrepreneurial legacy, active in the F&B, Hospitality and Real Estate sector.
Shroff is an early adopter and substantial owner of cryptocurrencies, which led to the inception of IBC Group in 2014. The privately held ‘angel’ firm, aims to innovate and explore uses of Ai and tech in real estate. He also is the Chairman of Gallery Suites., a substantial Vacation Home company based in Dubai.
Ricardo Valente is City Councilor for Economy, Tourism and Commerce and City Councilor for European Funds. He is in charge of InvestPorto (Investment Attraction Division) and Porto Convention & Visitors Bureau (for tourism development and external promotion). He is also a non-executive board member of Porto Vivo – Porto Urban Rehabilitation Society.
Mr. Valente is also a professor at the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto and at PBS - Porto Business School.
From 1992 to 2016, Mr. Valente worked in risk management consulting, capital markets, asset management, investment banking and was also an investment consultant.
Mr. Valente has a Master’s degree in finance and a MBA in finance from the Catholic University of Lisbon, and a degree in Economics from the University of Porto.
Mr. Valente is the author of several books on risk management.
Eduardo Miranda is the president of ALEP, the local lodging (short-term-rental) association of Portugal. In this position he had an important role in the negotiation of the new short-term rental national law as well as city regulations where ALEP took a proactive approach presenting innovative proposals of sustainable growth and balanced regulation.

Simon has been in the global business since he started his career in the logistics and supply chain industry, later moved in to the world of airlines and ground handling, before he ended up in the travel industry. His main area of focus has been the private accommodation and vacation rental space, where he served as CEO of one of the world’s largest vacation rental company as well as on the board of Homeaway. He holds a BBA from the GSBA, Zurich with the focus of sales and marketing. Before he founded his consulting company he served as the CEO of Phocuswright Inc in New York, which is the world’s most respected on-line travel research and conference company.
Tim is responsible for the European Tourism Association’s policy and non-commercial activity across Europe at EU, national and local levels, with particular focus on destination engagement. Prior to joining ETOA he worked in operations and product development in educational and cultural group tourism. A lawyer and mediator by training, he has been in the industry for over 25 years.
In October 2017, Stefano was named the President of Property managers Italy (www.propertymanagersitalia.it), a national association that represents the managers of holiday homes and in general extra-accommodation facilities hotel, and is the current President of ALEP. He is also the current CEO of Rentopolis, a company he founded in 2013, that manages about a hundred apartments in South Beach, Miami, Florida (USA).
Born in sandrigo (VI) on 24 May 1980 after graduating in law in 2005 in Trento, holds a Master’s degree in “Making and saving deals in the Global Business Environment” at the University La Sapienza in Rome and the hamline University of St. Paul (Minnesota - USA), on negotiation, mediation and arbitration.
From March 2003 to January 2004 he worked at the University Research Centre of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. From October 2004 to July 2005 he was a researcher at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law, Investment Treaty Forum”in London (United Kingdom). From October 2005 to April 2007 he worked at Dal Ferro-sartore-Diamantakis-Natale law firm, and in 2006 he was named, “visiting Foreign lawyer” at the studio “Reed Smith LLP”, at their headquarters in Washington DC (USA).
From May 2007 to March 2010 he worked in the department of “Banking and Finance” at the studio “SJ Berwin LLP” (now King & Wood Mallesons) between Milan and London. Stefano obtained the title of solicitor at the Court of Appeal in Venice and also the title of solicitor at the Senior Court in London, United Kingdom.
From April 2010 to August 2012, he worked in the department of “Banking and Finance, Project Finance and Restructuring” at Lombardi Molinari and Associati (now Lombardi Molinari Segni) in Milan. From September 2012 to October 2013, he served in the department of “Banking and Finance, Debt and Restructuring” at the law firm Bonelli Erede Pappalardo in Milan. From October 2013 to December 2015, he worked in the Legal & Compliance department at The Royal Bank of Scotland plc, in Milan.
Victoria O’Connell is an entrepreneur with over 17 years of experience co-founding and managing an international e-commerce and real estate company. With vacation rentals in Malta, London, Dubai and Miami, she’s long been a customer of alternative accommodations. Applying inspiration from the community aspect of women-focused coworking spaces, Victoria, along with a team of industry experts, created a platform that connects women through travel; listing only women owned and managed rooms and properties, and Golightly was born.
Carlos Villaro Lassen
Working intensely in the holiday home industry to create a greater understanding among politicians, decision makers and the public of the industry's contribution and importance as well as to provide the best conditions for the companies and tourists in the sector. With a Master in Economics from the University of Copenhagen and with a background as director of communication at the Danish Chamber of Commerce together with experience in the political sector in several European countries and in the European Union my aim is to unify the industry internationally.
